Plot the point, and draw a right triangle from that point and the x-axis.

The hypotenuse is the speed.  Use  A^2 + B^2 = C^2 to calculate it.

Imagine a compass on your graph.  Straight up along the y-axis is North.  The angle clockwise from there to the hypotenuse is the compass direction of travel.  Use tan(3/4) to get the angle from the x-axis, then add 90 since it's in quadrant 4. (compass directions are never negative)
