The war was between French Army and National Liberation Front. It was in 1830 that France first started to colonise Algeria. During World War, Algerians comprising Muslim Algerians and European Algerians began to fight in support of France.
After the world war, they began to demand for freedom, which led to the arm struggle between them. This resulted in the independence of Algeria from France in 1962, around hundred of thousands people killed during this war.
