Definitions:
A function is a relation in which no two ordered pairs have the same first component (inputs or x-values) and different second components (outputs or y-values).

The set of first components (x-coordinates) in the ordered pairs is the DOMAIN of the relation. The domain is the set of values that we are allowed to plug into our function.

The set of second components (y-coordinates) is the RANGE of the relation.

The given relation is NOT a function because there are x-values in the relation that has more than 1 corresponding y-values.

Specifically, x = 1 has two y-values: -2 and 2. x = - 5 also has two corresponding y-values: 4 and -4.

Domain (Inputs/x-values): {-5, 1, 3}
Range (Outputs/y-values): {-4, -2, 0, 2, 4}
