Yusuf was surprised at the absolute quiet around him; students were making
impressive efforts to avoid disturbing others. The library was unusually crowded for
lunchtime, a side effect of everyone's exam preparation. Yusuf found a place at a
table, opened his math book, and removed an envelope he'd tucked inside.
Deciding it was time to face his fear, Yusuf opened the envelope. The first sentence
