If the measure of A is 28 less than three times the measure of B. A and B are a linear pair. Find the measure of A and B.

Answer :

Measure of linear pair A and B are 86 and 38 respectively.

Let the measure of  B = x

And measure of  A = 3x – 28

As  A and B are linear pair. Therefore their sum will be equal to 180

That is numerically,

      A + B = 180

Putting the required values of A and B we will get

     3x – 28 + x = 180

      4x  = 180-28

       4x = 152

        x = 38

Hence the measure of A = 3*38 – 28 = 86

And the measure of B = x = 38
