Let the drinks be x and the candies be y

4 x + 3 y = 48 -------------- equ 1

Each drink costs $4 and each candy costs $3. She bought 2 more candies than drinks.

She bought 2 more candies than drinks.

4 x + ( 3 y + 2 ) = 48

4x + 3 y = 48- 2

4x + 3y = 46 ......................... equ 2
