Pangangaluluwa is a Filipino tradition in which a group of individuals visit several homes on the eve of All Saints Day (November 1) while singing and pleading for prayers and alms. The figures depict souls trapped in purgatory pleading with the living for assistance in guiding them to heaven. It is currently only practiced in the provinces.
The Filipino equivalent of Halloween- pangangaluluwa includes rural people, generally children, going door to door at night and singing songs about All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in exchange for money.
