Between January 8 and January 10, 1811, there was a slave rebellion in the Louisiana Territory known as the German Coast Uprising, commonly referred to as Andry's Rebellion. The largest slave uprising in American history was dubbed the Manual Andry Revolt after the plantation owner.
A large number of slaves were detained. 18 people were questioned, put on trial, and executed at the Destrehan plantation. Eleven slaves were tried and executed in New Orleans. After the uprising, 95 militants were killed.
