Answer:In the text, it says "Now the trumpet summons us again—not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need—not as a call to battle, though embattled we are—but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle" and it also says, "The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it—and the glow from that fire can truly light the world."  those are to sentence i saw figurative langause being used. he was say we don't always need  guns but when needed to use them. in his speech he meant to not be afraid to defend for your freedom. in the 2nd second entente i wrote he was trying to show that Americans that their efforts to create unity and freedomwill not only affect America, but the entire world as a whole. i think that figurative language was used to get people attion because the message he was trying to get across was very important.
