After 14th and 15th amendements of U.S. it became the basis for court decision and upholding the civil rights in the 20th century it is because of so much violence, segregation,etc away from american rights.

The Bill of rights protects the freedom of speech, religion,rights to keep and bear arms, assembly and to petition these all are american rights . It also prohibits the unreasonable search warrant and seizure , unusual or cruel punishment and self descrimination.

These rights guaranteed to the freedoms of to make the people of the United States of America the freest in the world. It set a rules for due process of law and reserves all powers not delegated to the U.S. government to the people or states.
